Whitehaven AFC Lionesses under-12s will wear a new pink kit this season thanks to a generous sponsor.

The girls’ new kit has been provided thanks to sponsor Michael Holmes, the director of Snap-On in the county.

Coach Rob Campbell said: “I’m really over the moon to have Michael Holmes be so generous and sponsor the girls and not just one team, but two teams.

“It’s a real bonus that we get to be the first team in the club to wear the new pink kit that the club selected.

“I really think they’ll stand out at all their games countywide this season and I really love that Snap-On will be part of the team.”

Meanwhile, the club has raised £4,000 for the Henderson Suite at the West Cumberland Hospital in Whitehaven by taking part in one of the weekly Park Runs in the town.

Coaches, volunteers, parents, players and supporters came together to raise the money to buy gift packs which can be handed out to patients once they have received chemotherapy at the suite.
