IT’S the eighth game of the season and Cleator Moor Celtic will finally get the chance to play a home game.

The Celts entertain Cheadle Town on Saturday after seven successive games away from West Cumbria in which they have won two, drawn two and lost three.

The PlayerMatch.com Cup first round tie gets under way at 3pm.

The reason why they have not played at home in the North West Counties First Division North has been because of major pitch improvements throughout the summer.

Stage one work involved levelling and the installation of a primary drainage system.

Stage two will start in May next year with the installation of a secondary drainage system and the total cost of the project will be £140,000.

John George led Celtic to a respectable mid-table position in their debut season at this level but decided to step down, recommending his number two Craig Routledge to be given the job.

Cheadle are third bottom of Division One South.
