Race ace Jonny Edgar had another good weekend in the Italian F4 championship, topping the rookie podium in the second race.

The 15-year-old from Asby, near Frizington, was pleased with his driving at Spielberg

“I think it was another good weekend,” stated the Jenzer Motorsport driver. “We keep going forward and the car was definitely better than when we were here for the ADAC round.”

“We can still improve and sometimes it just doesn’t quite work out. Like in the first qualy, I got traffic at the end when everyone was doing their best laps because the session had been so cold, so I missed out there.”

“Second qualy was better and I was fourth fastest which I was pleased with. In race two I didn’t get a great start and Dennis (Hauger) was very quick and got ahead of me.

“Then after the first restart I lost two places but managed to get one back, and after the second restart, I was trying to pass but I ran wide but I was still seventh and the best rookie.

“In race three I got up to ninth but after the restart, me and another car touched and I dropped back, lost a lot of places, dropped to 16th and then pushed and passed two cars but couldn’t get higher than 14th, it is so hard to pass round here.”
