Cumberland Fell Runners’ Rosie Watson won the women’s race at the annual Ennerdale Horseshoe over the weekend.
Watson finished in a fine 19th overall and as first woman in a time of 4:57.59, holding off Black Combe Runners’ Anna Lupton who finished as second female in 4:59.51. She was 22nd overall and the first F40.
The 23-mile long overall race was won by Finlay Wild of Lochaber AC in 3:52:36.
The fell race, from the Ennerdale Scout Camp, saw rain and low cloud add to the difficulty for much of the event as 91 competitors started.
Second and third went to Dark Peak’s Peter Davies in 4:03.50 and Mercia FR’s Huw Davies in 4:16.50.
Local runners came in at fourth with Keswick AC’s Tom Day finishing in 4:20.01.
