A strong field took to the greens for the Anne Wilson Memorial Mixed Triples in Keswick on Saturday.

A hard-fought final was won by Fitz Park’s Di Massingham and Barry Prytherych and John Brew, both of Vulcan Park, with the runners-up Colin Mason, Lynn Hazell and Mike Robertson, all of Fitz Park.

The competition included teams and players from Vulcan Park, Castle Park, Croft, Whitehaven, Temple Sowerby and the host club.

The winning team received the trophy from Anne’s husband John Wilson and Fitz Park president Cliff Harding.

Meanwhile Whitehaven A’s fine start to the West Cumbria Men’s Fours League season came to an end when they lost 5-2 to reigning champions Workington A at Low Green on Friday.

Last week’s West Cumbria Mixed Triples League joint-leaders Maryport crashed to an away 9-0 defeat on Tuesday at the hands of Whitehaven A and dropped to eighth in the table.
