It was finals weekend for the West Cumbria Youth League with trophies galore being handed out.

Opening the action at Borough Park on Saturday was the Under-13 League Cup final where Cleator Moor Celtic and Whitehaven Amateurs went head to head.

After an exciting encounter it was Celtic who took the spoils, winning 2-0 to add to their league triumph.

Next up was the Under-14 League Cup final and there were goals aplenty as Cleator Moor Celtic were in action again, this time against Workington Rangers.

And again the final went the way of the league champions as Workington Rangers clinched another trophy with a 4-2 win.

The last game of Saturday was the Under-16 League Cup final and the clash between Maryport Athletic and Workington Reds Juniors Blacks was deadlocked at 2-2.

This meant the final went to penalties and it was the Workington Reds side who held their nerve to win 4-1 from the spot.

The following day saw more finals and Whitehaven AFC Whites saw off their own Blues team to lift the Under-12 Girls League Cup.

But the Under-14 Girls League Cup went all the way to penalties with Workington Diamonds and Whitehaven AFC Blues locked on 22. In the end it was the Whitehaven side who just edged through 3-2 on penalties.

In the Under-12 Cup Yellow Workington Reds Whites won 2-0 on penalties against Moor Row after the game had ended in stalemate at 1-1.

The Under-12 Cup Orange went to Dearham Rangers who beat St Bees 4-0 while the Under-12 Cup Green saw Workington Reds’ Reds beat Whitehaven Miners Social 2-1.
