It was a goal frenzy as Whitehaven Miners and Workington Reds under-15 sides clashed in the U16 division of the West Cumbria Youth League.

Twelve goals were scored in the clash with Miners coming out on top 9-3 over their Workington visitors at the final whistle.

In the same division, Workington Wanderers Whites U15s got the better of Seaton Juniors U15s 7-3 while Windscale U15s edged out Whitehaven AFC U15s 5-3.

The other game at this level was much closer with just one goal separating Cockermouth Lightning and Cleator Moor Celtic with Cockermouth taking the honours 3-2.

In the U16 League Cup, Maryport Athletic won 2-1 at the home of Bransty Rangers while Workington Reds Blacks were 3-0 winners over Cleator Moor Celtic U15s.

In the Under-13 league, Workington Reds narrowly took the points from Workington Wolves 3-2 while Senhouse Juniors won 9-1 at Maryport Amateurs.

The Under-13 League Cup saw victories for Cleator Moor Celtic, 4-0 over Whitehaven Miners Social and Whitehaven AFC Blues won by the same scoreline when they welcomed Seaton United.

The Under-12 Cup Red saw Workington Reds Blacks beat Whitehaven AFC Yellows 3-1 and in the U12 Blue Division Whitehaven Blues were 4-0 winners at the home of Dearham Rangers.

There was a home walkover for Silloth Mini Gulls in the U12 Cup Orange against Moor Row Blacks while in the U12 Yellow Cup, Workington Reds Whites won by the lone goal of the game at Whitehaven AFC Yellows.

In the girls competition, Workington Diamonds were crowned champions of the Under-14 league after their 6-2 win over Whitehaven AFC, while Cockermouth edged out Maryport Amateurs 3-0.

And in the the Under-12 league, Maryport Amateurs clinched a 5-0 victory over Workington Diamonds Reds while Whitehaven AFC Whites won 7-1 against Moor Row. The final game saw Cockermouth Juniors record a 3-1 scoreline at Allerdale Girls.
