Rugby league coaches, managers and first-aiders are being sought for representative matches across Allerdale and Copeland.

Cumbria County ARL have appealed for people to come forward and take the opportunities to further their coaching careers at a district and county level.

They want people to take over the roles at Allerdale and Copeland representative level at under-14/16/19 and open-age levels and also for Cumbria for the forthcoming Tri-Series games against Lancashire and Yorkshire at U17, U19 and men’s level.

County secretary, Alan Davidson, said: “This is a great opportunity for local coaches to progress and develop, as well as players.

“We have put together a full Cumbria county programme and we have open access development days for players to come and get additional coaching.

“And there will be coach mentoring as well. Part of our set-up is to help people to coach the district sides.”

The first open-access day for players takes place on Wednesday at Whitehaven Campus. The under-12/13 and 14s have a session in the morning, with the under-15 and 16s in the afternoon.

Any players who want to take part should email marnie-westcumbriarl@outlook.com

The under-14s and the under-16s in Allerdale and Copeland will play a district game and then selected players will combine to play for West Cumbria against Barrow in the U14 and U16 State of Origin fixtures.

At under-16 level, selected players from the State of Origin game will progress into the Cumbria U17 representative squad.

The under-19s and men will play district games with Copeland and Allerdale combining to form a West Cumbria team to play Barrow. From the West Cumbria v Barrow game, the Cumbria County U19s and open-age Cumbria representative squads will be selected.
