Cleator Moor Celtic Under 13s remain on top of the West Cumbria Youth League after their 2-0 win over St Bees.

It was a tight game which saw defences on top and also saw Celtic spurn several chances to break the deadlock.

In the second half Celtic were awarded a penalty, Ben McCarron coolly slotting home. St Bees broke clear and homed in on goal but it wasn’t to be the equaliser as the striker shot wide with only the keeper to beat.

In the final stages of the game McCarron doubled Celtic’s lead with a glancing header at the far post.
