Whitehaven-born former Warrington Wolves prop Gary Chambers will be making the draw for the second round of the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup today.

And three Cumbrian amateur teams are still left in the hat, after tasting success in the opening round at the weekend.

Kells, Distington and Wath Brow Hornets are all waiting to see who their next opponents will be when the draw is made, from 5pm.

And they are joined by fellow Cumbrians Askam and Millom in the draw.

Distington, who will be ball number five tonight, triumphed 32-24 against Queens from the Pennine League.

Kells were too strong for the British Police and were 40-8 winners and you can watch for them tonight at number eight.

At Hunslet Warriors, Wath Brow Hornets came away with a 30-0 victory. They go into the hat at number 23.

Streamed live on the BBC Sport website, Chambers will be at the Halliwell Jones Stadium, along with Wolves' new signing Sitaleki Akauola.

Chambers signed for Warrington from Kells in the late 80s and spent 13 seasons there.

But he is now coach of the Wolves’ under-16 scholarship side.

The second round fixtures are scheduled for February 10-11.
