Super League star Luke Gale is bringing his own coaching camp to Wath Brow Hornets in April.

The Castleford Tigers half-back is heading to Cleator Moor on Tuesday, April 3 to pass on his tips of the trade as part of the Luke Gale Academy.

The England star, renowned for his kicking game,is running a training session, aimed at girls and boys between the ages of seven and 16.

Gale set up his own Academy saying he wanted to create a rugby camp with a difference, mainly focused on the skills needed to be a half-back.

And he explained on his website: "There are lots of great rugby camps that teach basic rugby skills, many of which are excellent.

"But that's not what I want mine to be, I feel like there's a lack of opportunities to learn about the skills involved in playing half-back specifically, like setting up plays, reading the field and good attacking kicking.

"Being a good half-back requires a lot of different skills and great game awareness.

"I hope my sessions will help to educate on what the role requires and what things to practice in order to improve.

"That doesn't mean that only kids interested in half-backing should join us. Understanding the role of half-back and how it impacts the entire team can be an important lesson for any young player.

"Just like being able to pull off a great attacking kick can also be a powerful asset for a player in any position.

"I honestly believe that all players, regardless of where they usually play, can come to our sessions, learn a lot and get something out of it."

The camp costs £20 per person and places are limited. To book a place or get more information, go to: lukegale.co.uk

Gale has previously played for the Bradford Bulls and Harlequins RL in Super League and for Doncaster in the Championships.

He played a big part in England World Cup campaign last year that saw them reach the final against Australia.
