The championship will be as good as won if they beat their nearest rivals Redcar Athletic tomorrow – and they can then concentrate on Tuesday’s County Cup final.
Celtic have two games to play and hold a three-point lead on Redcar, who still have three fixtures to fit in.
Redcar travel to McGrath Park knowing that realistically they have to win because Celtic’s final game next Saturday, also at home, is against bottom side Coxhoe Athletic.
Cleator Moor already have a superior goal difference than Redcar with the best attack (over 100 goals) and the tightest defence (just 22 conceded).
Manager Stuart Green, the former Carlisle United and Workington midfielder, has seen his side lose only twice in 30 league games so far.
When the two leading sides met at Redcar earlier in the season it finished 2-2.
Green should have a full squad to choose from with the only slight doubt concerning striker Ryan Hall.
Press officer Herbert Briggs said: “It’s obviously a big game for the club as winning the league would enable us to move a step up the pyramid system.
“At the moment we are not sure whether that would be into the North West Counties League or the Northern League.
“We have been doing work on the ground for the last 12 months and most of what we needed to do has been completed.”
