Derby's Cumbrian goalkeeper Scott Carson has conceded Fulham deserved their Championship play-off semi-final victory.

Slavisa Jokanovic's side overturned a 1-0 first-leg deficit to beat Derby 2-1 on aggregate after second-half goals from Ryan Sessegnon and Denis Odoi in Monday's second leg at Craven Cottage.

"Fulham are an unbelievable side," the 32-year-old, from Cleator Moor, told The Derby Telegraph .

"Them and Wolves are the best footballing sides in the division.

"They keep the ball so well and made us work so hard. We put a massive shift in on Friday night [in the first leg] and it was always going to be difficult.

"We were a little bit sloppy on the ball and we had a couple of half-chances where, if we'd played a better pass, we might have given ourselves a better opportunity to go for goal.

"But apart from that, you can't question anyone's desire.

"We've put the effort in but, at the end of the day, we just haven't been good enough."
