Workington Town boss Leon Pryce says his side have to lick their wounds and knuckle down to face London Skolars on Sunday - but they will have to do it without Elliott Miller.

The free-scoring star pulled his groin in last weekend's heavy defeat at the hands of Newcastle Thunder and will miss out on Sunday.

Town's last two matches are now even more crucial, with a League One play-off berth at stake.

And they cannot afford any more slips ups in their final two games, starting with the visit of the Skolars on Sunday and then a trip to Doncaster the following weekend.

"We can't play like we did at Bradford and then York at home and then drop to that kind of level where we get 50 points slammed on us," said Pryce.

"That is not where we want to be.

"Now we have to lick our wounds and regroup and this now means that we really can't slip up this week.

"We will be without Elliott this week as he pulled his groin and we will just have to assess him after that.

"And we also need to check on Perry Singleton and Sean Penkywicz but we will know more after training."

Pryce admitted he was bitterly disappointed at the showing over in Newcastle where his side conceded nine tries and were hit for a half century of points.

The Town coach told his players afterwards that the performance was unacceptable.

He added: "I pretty much stand by what I said at the weekend but I do think we have to move forward, it wasn't the end of the world.

"But it was so disappointing when you consider how far we had come, with our performances, the crowd and the buzz that was about.

"When you are starting to make real progress to then throw that kind of performance in afterwards was really, really disappointing.

"We took a good set of fans over to Newcastle and with all the build-up we had, it was just so disappointing."
