Leon Pryce says this weekend's do-or-die clash with Doncaster means everything to him.

The Workington Town boss has played in some big matches in his time as a Super League professional.

But he says Sunday's Betfred League One play-off semi-final is just as important to him and the Town players.

"It is hard to compare this game to when I was playing. I was in some semi-finals with 15 to 20,000 fans so there is a big difference numbers wise," admitted Pryce.

"But what it actually means to me is no different.

"This means everything to myself and to the players - we will give it everything we have got."

Pryce said excitement was growing in the Town camp as they prepare for the biggest test of their season with a final berth at stake for the winners.

And for the head coach, still in his first year at the helm, it is the culmination of a lot of hard work.

"I can't wait, I'm really excited," he admitted. "I think in this league, during the year, a lot of the games don't give you much to be excited for.

"I can't really get excited about going to Coventry or Hemel and that is no disrespect to those teams.

"But this game is what it is all about, especially after last week where we performed pretty mediocre to be honest.

"This is the game we have worked so hard for all season. The lads are really excited and we are looking forward to playing semi-final rugby."

And he appealed to fans to follow them in numbers and hopefully become an extra man on the terraces.

"These are the games that you want to coach and that the players want to play in and hopefully the fans wants to watch and they will get behind us in numbers," said Pryce.

"I was disappointed with how we performed in Newcastle when we had taken a good following over so this week we are looking to make up for that.

"I am really confident that we are going to put in a very good performance."
