A road in Whitehaven is set to be shut for approximately three days.

Irish Street is set to close from its junction with Roper Street for approximately 40 metres in a westerly direction.

This is to allow gas replacement works to be carried out.

The planned closure will be in place from September 21for approximately three days.

An alternative route is available for vehicles exceeding 7.5 tonnes maximum gross weight via Lowther Street, Flatt Walks, Coach Road, Preston Street, and New Town.

Traffic not exceeding 7.5 tonnes maximum gross weight will be diverted via Scotch Street, Roper Street, Market Place, and Swingpump Lane.
