Cumbria Tourism has teamed up with Lake District Relocation to introduce a new resource to help anyone considering a move to the county.
It’s widely documented that Cumbria has a super ageing population and needs to attract more people of working age to live and work here, so this latest initiative from Cumbria Tourism aims to help address ongoing recruitment and skills challenges.
‘Live, Work and Thrive’ is a new platform created in partnership between Cumbria’s official Local Visitor Economy Partnership (LVEP) and specialist property finder Gemma Dawe, from Lake District Relocation.
It will support local businesses and communities by helping to promote Cumbria as an exceptional place to live, work and study.
Hosted on the county’s official destination website visitlakedistrict.com, ‘Live, Work and Thrive’ brings together practical information, local insight and ideas to get people thinking about lifestyle options and work opportunities.
That includes an inspirational new video to help people explore what life in Cumbria could look like for them.
Head of partnerships and projects at Cumbria Tourism, Rachel Tyson, said: “We know relocating is about so much more than finding a house or securing a new job. It’s about building a life, and we want to actively inspire people who may consider returning to Cumbria after time away, as well as those who’ve never previously considered our county as a place to call home.
“Whether they’re looking for exciting career opportunities, innovative businesses, outstanding education, a stronger sense of community or a better work-life balance, Cumbria offers the opportunity to truly thrive.
“Drawing on our team’s wide-ranging destination knowledge and Lake District Relocation’s experience of helping people make successful moves to the county, we’ve created a joint resource that we hope will answer questions, provide reassurance and showcase everything our remarkable county has to offer.
