The scores are in — the latest batch of food hygiene ratings in the Cumberland Council area for restaurants, cafes, takeaways and businesses have been revealed.
Last month, environmental health officers from Cumberland Council visited businesses across the Island to see if they are meeting hygiene requirements.
Based on guidelines set by the Food Standards Agency, inspectors look to see how clean the facilities are; what food safety management procedures are in place and how hygienic food handling is.
Ratings are then dished out from five to zero — with the higher score the better the result.
Costa Coffee in Station Street, Keswick, rated 5 on July 13, 2026. Leighs Sweet Treats, rated 5 on July 15, 2026.
Businesses may have been reinspected since and this will be reflected in our next round-up.
