Residents and visitors to Whitehaven will have extra parking places this weekend.
Whitehaven Harbour Commissioners announced in a Facebook post that the multi-storey car park on Swingpump Lane will be open for this weekend, beginning August 1, and next weekend beginning August 8.
The opening is planned to coincide with the arrival of the replica tall ship Nao Santa Maria, currently docked at Whitehaven Harbour until August 10.
Writing on Facebook, the Harbour Commissioners said: "Skip the stress of searching for a space on the harbour and head straight to the Multi-Storey Car Park, which will be open for public use this weekend and next weekend during specific hours.
"It's just a short walk from the harbour and offers covered parking, giving your car a much better chance of avoiding any unwanted seagull surprises."
Opening hours are from 9am-5:30pm on Saturday and 10am-3:30pm on Sunday.
Whitehaven Harbour Commissioners have warned that vehicles left inside beyond opening hours will have to be collected the following day.
