A road in Egremont is set to close for five days this week.

The planned closure on Dent View is to allow for carriageway repair works.

Cumberland Council announced the temporary restriction, meaning the road is set to close between Briscoe Mount junction and for approximately 300 metres, from house numbers 96 to 77 and 54 to 65.

The work is scheduled to start on August 3, and will take place between 8am and 4pm daily.

There will be no alternative route for vehicles, but pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will have access.

The council has advised that anyone with queries should contact the highways hotline on 0300 373 3736, or visit the Cumberland Council website, quoting the reference TTROC/18423.
