The U4202 Newtown Frizington, from its junction with the U4194 Yeathouse Road, is set to shut for five days for carriageway repairs.
The planned closure is set to be in place from August 3, between 8am and 4pm each day.
Pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will still be able to use the route.
There is no suitable alternative route for vehicles.
The work is set to be carried out by Cumberland Council.
