A road in Whitehaven is set to close for utility works this month.

Cumberland Council has announced the planned closure of Read Drive, between Coronation Drive and Victoria Road, from August 24.

The scheduled closure is to allow for utility works to be carried out safely.

Pedestrian and dismounted cyclist access will be maintained throughout the period.

A vehicle diversion will be signposted via Victoria Road and Coronation Drive.

The planned restrictions are expected to last for only 12 days.

The council advises that the restrictions will only be enforced when the necessary traffic signs are visible.

Residents with any questions are encouraged to contact the Highways Hotline at 0300 373 3736 or visit the Cumberland Council website, quoting reference TTROC/J9405.
