Main road in St Bees set to close for five weeks for gas main replacement works.

The planned closure will affect the B5345 Main Street in St Bees for approximately five weeks.

On Main Street, the scheduled closure will extend from its junction with Abbey Road, moving in a south-easterly direction for around 320m.

A suitable diversion route will be in place, using the unrestricted sections of the B5345, A595 Thornhill and Egremont, and C4045 Mirehouse Road.

The scheduled closure will take effect on August 10, as part of a wider programme of works across Whitehaven, St Bees, and Egremont expected to last five months.

Pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will still be able to use the roads.
