A road in Whitehaven is set to close this week.

Cumberland Council has announced a planned two-day closure of a section of the U4401 Cambridge Road to allow utility works to take place.

The affected stretch runs from the junction with Cumberland Road and extends south-west for approximately 40 metres.

The scheduled closure will be in effect from July 22, with the work expected to last two days between 8am and 5pm.

Diversion routes will take vehicles along the unrestricted section of Cambridge Road, Westmorland Road, Lincoln Road, and Sneckyeat Road.
