AN exhibition celebrating Beatrix Potter is coming to Whitehaven.

Hosted at Whitehaven Town Council’s offices, the exhibition will feature knitted displays and interpretive panels that bring to life the stories and characters of the beloved Victorian author.

It will run throughout the school holidays, with contributions from the Amrit Museum and Library in Ambleside.

Gerard Richardson, Deputy Lieutenant and one of the organisers, said: "Who hasn’t got a favourite Potter character? To be honest, we are all delighted with this rather lovely exhibition, and I’d like to say thank you to Faye Morrisey, the museum curator, for arranging this for us. Best of all is that it’s a free exhibition, so we hope people really enjoy the event."

Councillor Gill said: "I’m delighted with this and really love the fact that we can put this on free of charge.

"School holidays can be an expensive time, so every little helps, and this is a lovely exhibition for families or fans of Beatrix Potter to see."

The exhibition is open over the school holidays from 10am to 4pm, with last entry at 3.30pm.
