A road in the Hensingham area of Whitehaven is set to temporarily close for resurfacing early next month.

Under the plans, the B5295 Ribton Moorside will shut from its junction with the A595 for about 260 metres south-east.

Cumberland Council said the closure will begin on July 6, and is expected to last for 12 days.

Pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will still be able to use the road, while vehicles will be diverted via Egremont Road and the A595.

The council has advised residents to direct any queries to the Highways Hotline on 0300 373 3736 or through their website, quoting the reference TTROC/18731.

The council has reassured residents that the closure will only be in effect when appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
