Police arrest driver on number of offences after collision

A man has been arrested following a collision in Whitehaven's town centre.

Police from Whitehaven's Neighbourhood Team attended a report of collision in Whitehaven on June 16.

The incident was reported to have taken place on Queen Street in the town centre.

Police stated that they had received a report that a male had fled from the scene of the crash and have since made an arrest.

Cumbria Police said: "We can confirm that after a search by police, a male matching the description of the driver was located and was arrested for a number of offences."

Enquiries have since been conducted by Cumbria Police.

The man in questions has been released on police bail, pending further enquiries.
