A nine-week road closure is set to begin in Whitehaven next month.

Under the plans, Meadow Road will be shut from its junction with Skiddaw Road for approximately 110 metres north-westwards due to utility works.

The closure is scheduled to start on July 7. 

Pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will still have access.

Alternative routes for northbound vehicles include Meadow Road, Meadow View, B5345 New Town, Swingpump Lane, Strand Street, Duke Street, Scotch Street, Flat Walks, Inkerman Terrace, and the A595.

Southbound vehicles can use Meadow Road, A595, Inkerman Terrace, Flat Walks, Irish Street, New Town, and Meadow View.
