Cumberland Council has announced that a section of C4009 High House Road in St Bees is scheduled to be shut to all vehicles for the works.
The closure covers a stretch from 11 metres east of its junction with Vale View, extending northeast for approximately 670 metres.
The order is set to come into effect on May 26, with the closure anticipated to last for five weeks.
Under the plans, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will still have access along the route and an alternative route for vehicles will be signposted.
The diversion will take drivers via the unrestricted section of C4009 High House Road, Linethwaite Road, A595 Springfield Road, Clints Brow, C4005 Main Street, Castle Villas, Bookwell, Egremont, C4007 Grove Road, Outrigg, and B5345 Main Street, St Bees.
