A killer performance is set to take centre stage this week in Whitehaven.
Whitehaven Theatre Group will present Stephen Sondheim’s darkly comic masterpiece Sweeney Todd at Solway Hall from Tuesday, April 21, to Saturday, April 25, 2026.
The group described the musical as a "bloody, worldwide success."
Sondheim's musical is described as "a tasty, thrilling, theatrical treat" which has "shocked, awed, and delighted audiences across the world."
The show, which won eight Tony Awards including Best Musical, follows the chilling tale of Sweeney Todd, an exiled barber who returns to nineteenth century London seeking vengeance.
With the help of the cunning Mrs Lovett and her notorious meat pies, Todd’s quest for revenge takes a gruesome turn.
Tickets are £15 for adults and £13 for concessions.
