The Met Office has revealed a cold, windy weekend to come for Whitehaven.
On Friday, temperatures are set to barely reaching 6-7°C in the Cumbrian coastal town, and wind speeds are forecast to make it feel even colder.
Temperatures will hover around 4-5°C in the early hours, with a 20-40 per cent chance of showers.
However, the strongest feature will be the wind, gusting up to 45-50 mph, making it feel just below freezing, particularly on the seafront or elevated areas.
From the morning till mid-afternoon, there will be on and off scattered showers, with a 50-60 per cent chance of needing an umbrella between bright intervals.
Blustery winds will persist, though gusts will decrease to the low 30 mph range by mid-afternoon.
Towards the evening, showers should lighten and become fewer, bringing the rain chance down to 20-40 per cent.
Temperatures will drop to around 5°C.
Light winds, around 9-10 mph, will make it feel a bit more bearable than earlier in the day.
Saturday is set to be calmer and mostly dry, with high pressure taking over.
It starts off around 4-5°C at dawn, with a slim chance of an early shower, but light winds will bring a more pleasant chill.
The late morning and afternoon are anticipated to be dry, with extensive bright or sunny intervals.
Rain chances remain low, under five per cent for most of that time.
Temperatures may rise to around 8°C in the afternoon, feeling 5-6°C in a gentle westerly breeze.
The evening and early night will mostly remain dry, with only a 20-30 per cent chance of an odd light shower later.
Temperatures will dip back to about 4-6°C.
Sunday mirrors Friday's more unsettled weather pattern, thanks to the incoming Atlantic systems.
Cloud cover will increase Saturday night into Sunday morning and showers or longer rain spells from the southwest will spread through.
The Met Office predicts a high rainfall probability, often 70-90 per cent, from the early hours into the morning.
As winds increase, temperatures will feel more like 2-4°C, despite stabilising around 7°C.
Through the rest of the day, Whitehaven can expect a mix of showers and possibly more structured rain bands moving through.
Daytime highs will be around 8-9°C, with frequent strong southwesterlies or westerlies making any sunshine brief and it feeling cold near the coast.
Rain is likely to continue into Sunday evening at a 60-80 per cent risk.
Passing systems may bring brief dryer intervals.
