An online workshop will give a fresh look at co-operatives and mutuals as alternative models for social enterprise.
Taking place on Tuesday, April 21, from 5.30pm to 7pm, the session will explore how these models work, how they differ from traditional social enterprises, and whether they could be a good fit for organisations seeking new ideas.
Attendees will learn about democratic governance, mutual ownership, and raising finance through community shares.
The event is organised by the Cumbria Social Enterprise Partnership and will be led by Petra Morris of Co-operatives UK.
Petra brings a wealth of experience from supporting co-operatives across the UK and has also served as a voluntary director with the community-owned Friends of Stretford Public Hall.
The event is part of a series of four organised by Cumbria Social Enterprise Partnership this spring to connect and strengthen skills among those in the social enterprise sector.
