Young people are being invited to get creative with clay in a new four-week pottery course in West Cumbria.

Florence Arts Centre in Egremont is hosting Clay Club from April 18 to May 9, offering a hands-on introduction to ceramics for eight to 18-year-olds.

Participants will explore the basics of pottery, including throwing on a potter’s wheel, under the guidance of an experienced tutor.

A spokesperson for Florence Arts Centre said: "Clay Club is a fun and creative four-week course designed for young people aged 8–18 who would like to explore pottery and ceramics.

"Guided by an experienced tutor, young makers will learn fundamental pottery skills in a relaxed and supportive environment, building confidence as they experiment with different techniques and ideas.

"The course encourages creativity, curiosity, and hands-on learning, with plenty of opportunity to get messy and have fun."

Sessions run from 1.30pm to 2.30pm at the Florence Arts Centre.
