A prostate support group has received a donation to help fund a community cancer testing session.
Westlakes Prostate Support Group in Whitehaven, with founder members Barry Beecham and Les James, was presented with a cheque for £500.
The donation came from Gavin Bremner at Lloyd BMW Cockermouth.
The group plans to use the funds to raise awareness of prostate cancer.
Mr James said: "Together we can raise awareness of this disease with routine testing to save lives."
The support group meets at 9.30 on the first and third Friday of each month at New Life Church in Whitehaven.
Meetings are held in an informal setting where members share experiences, discuss stages of the disease, and access information and support.
The group also hosts guest speakers, organises occasional walks, and encourages social interaction.
Evening meetings are set to begin on Thursday, March 12 at Red Lonning Community Centre at 7.30pm.
