A new exhibition in Whitehaven is set to celebrate the life and work of a celebrated portrait artist.
The Beacon Museum will honour John Dalzell Kenworthy, a renowned figure from west Cumbria, with a showcase running from February 14 to June 21.
Mr Kenworthy, who lived from 1858 to 1954, is remembered for his portraits of Edwardian-era residents and community leaders.
A Beacon Museum spokesperson said: "Kenworthy’s portraits bring to life the people of West Cumbria during the Edwardian period."
"Through faces and stories, visitors can explore everyday life, local leadership, and the impact of the First World War on families and communities."
His work includes portraits of Mayors of Whitehaven, soldiers, religious leaders, engineers, doctors, and domestic servants.
The exhibition will also feature digitised displays of his sketchbooks.
J.D. Kenworthy also designed a war memorial in St Bees, which commemorates local men who died in the First World War, including his eldest son.
