Hospice at Home West Cumbria has secured charity places in two major half-marathons this year.

Supporters can now apply to run in the AJ Bell Great Manchester Run on May 31 and the AJ Bell Great North Run on September 13, raising funds for the charity.

Holly Harkness, community fundraising co-ordinator, said: "The Great North Run is a staple in our hospice calendar, and we are excited to add The Great Manchester Run to this for the very first time.

"We’re thrilled to be able to offer two exciting opportunities to our supporters to tick that half-marathon off the bucket list, being part of something truly special by supporting our services while doing so.

"Last year, our runners raised over £20,000 through The Great North Run, an amazing achievement, and we’re excited to carry that momentum into 2026.

"With places now secured for The Great Manchester Run, we’re hopeful we can raise even more to support local patients and families."

A special early bird entry fee of £50 is available for those who register before February 16.

The Manchester event is priced at £40.

Participants are asked to raise additional sponsorship to support the charity’s services.
