A dedicated rugby league fan has been promoting the sport in Liverpool for the past 30 years.
Dominic Hornsby, 49, from Cumbria, has been introducing the sport to the football-oriented city through the pubs he has managed.
Born near the Whitehaven Recreation Ground, Dominic adopted St Helens as his club when he moved to Liverpool three decades ago.
Dominic told Mike Critchley at the St Helens Star: "I'm rugby league daft and in a long career in this wonderful city I've always tried to promote our game."
He has been successful in integrating his passion for rugby league with his professional life, making his love for the sport a unique selling point for his business.
He has consistently displayed rugby league memorabilia in the pubs he has run in Liverpool.
Dominic's Bridewell pub is notable for its 'rugby league cell', which features jerseys.
He said: "In all of the pubs I've run in this city over the years I have had visuals of our sport and our game, our history and our heritage."
This has led to many conversations about rugby league with his customers, who are often intrigued by his Cumbrian accent.
He has hosted events for the Saints, England Rugby League, and has even had Australian guests.
He said: "I have been very fortunate to make some wonderful connections."
He believes there is a gap in the market for rugby league enthusiasts, given the city's proximity to the heartlands of the sport.
Dominic also manages the Denbigh Castle and the Pen Factory, both of which are included in the 2026 CAMRA Good Beer Guide.

He owns the Bridewell with his wife, Fiona, which they have run for more than seven years.
The pub, a former police station, is a popular spot for Saints fans and other rugby league enthusiasts.
Dominic's efforts have helped to keep the spirit of rugby league alive in Liverpool.
