A BOAT crew needed the assistance of the coastguard to ensure they could get into Whitehaven safely.
Whilst dealing with another incident in Maryport, the Whitehaven Coastguard team was called back to the town to ensure the boat got the assistance it required.
The incident occurred on Monday, August 25.
In a post on social media, Whitehaven Coastguard wrote: "En route to the Maryport tasking, the team picked up on a request for assistance on VHF Radio from a vessel just off Whitehaven.
"This information was relayed to the Coastguard Operations Centre in Belfast, who subsequently requested the team to return to Whitehaven to ensure the individuals received the assistance required."
