A project in Cleator Moor aiming to support the community has received a financial boost.
Thomas Armstrong Construction, the main contractor for the Cleator Moor Town Deal Phase 3 renovations, has given £15,000 in 'social value' funding to the Phoenix Advice and Guidance project.
The funding will help the 12-month initiative, set up by the Phoenix Enterprise Centre in partnership with Citizens Advice Copeland, to continue its work supporting people in Cleator Moor.
The project aims to help people improve their lives and find new opportunities.
The Phoenix Advice and Guidance project expects to help 200 jobless, digitally excluded people in Cumberland access their IT Centre.
It aims to help 30 of these people find jobs, while 50 users will be provided with IT skills development.
Additionally, it hopes to support 100 families in financial distress by providing food or help with food costs.
Joanne Crowe, executive director of the Phoenix Enterprise Centre, said: "We are delighted that the main contractor of the Phase 3 Phoenix Court renovations and Cleator Moor Activity Centre projects has decided to support the next Phoenix Advice and Guidance project through meaningful social value funding."

The Phase 3 building, owned by Cumberland Council and run by the Phoenix Enterprise Centre, is currently undergoing refurbishment as part of the Cleator Moor Town Deal Revitalised Town project.
The £1.3 million works, which began in January, aim to provide affordable office space in central Cleator Moor.
Bob Metcalfe, chair of the Cleator Moor Town Board, said: "The investment of over £1.3 million will bring back into use a commercial property on the Square and provide space for latent demand in the town for quality office space.
"This is welcome news and will support wider regeneration projects across the town under the Town Deal banner."
