Whitehaven Coastguard conducted a rope rescue training exercise.
The training took place on Thursday, August 7.
The team focused on various techniques, including natural, urban, and stake holdfasts, indirect lead, and accompanied descent tech/medic.
They also practised obelisk into a loaded line and manual and mechanical recovery.
After the exercise, the coastguard team took to Facebook to share the details of the training.
A spokesperson said: "It's always nice to get the ropes out... and packed away again whilst it's dry."
They added: "In a coastal, sea, or cliff emergency, always call 999 and ask for the coastguard."
The Whitehaven Coastguard team is responsible for the initiation and coordination of civil maritime search and rescue within the UK search and rescue region.
This includes responding to distress at sea, or to persons at risk of injury or death on the cliffs or shoreline of the UK, as well as some inland waters.
