A MOTORIST who drove while under the influence of two illicit drugs has been banned from the roads for three years.
Jordan Acton, 18, drove a BMW on Woodhouse Road in Whitehaven on January 18.
A sample of blood taken from the defendant showed he had 305mcg of Benzoylecgonine – the body breakdown product for cocaine - per litre of blood. The limit is 50mcg.
Acton also had 2.1mcg of Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (cannabis) per litre of blood. The limit is 2mcg.
The defendant, of Meadow View, Lowca, Whitehaven, pleaded guilty to two charges of drug-driving.
Magistrates sitting in Workington imposed a 36-month driving ban and a 12-month community order with 200 hours of unpaid work.
Acton must also pay £85 costs and a £114 victim surcharge.
