WHITEHAVEN Coastguard Rescue Team was called to the scene of a 'medical emergency' at Drigg Beach yesterday morning (September 5).
Upon their arrival on the site, they assisted North West Ambulance Service in offering immediate medical care to a casualty.
With the tide incoming, the Whitehaven team prepared for extraction.
The team's colleagues from Millom Coastguard Rescue Team arrived in time to help transport the stretcher off the beach.
A spokesperson from Whitehaven Coastguard said: "We wish the casualty a full and speedy recovery.
"We’d also like to extend our thanks to the members of the public who acted quickly by calling for help and assisting at the scene before emergency services arrived," they said.
