PLANS for a new sign in the Distington area have been submitted to Cumberland Council's planning department.
The electronics retailer Peter Tyson has applied to make the change at the Central Motor Company on the Distington to Parton road in Lillyhall.
The planning application is for an internally illuminated SMD LED digital display which would be placed on the exterior of the building.
According to the form the advertisement period would run for a five year period from October this year until September 2029.
In a response from the local highway authority June Farquharson, the assistant development management officer, said, after it was reviewed, there were no objections to the proposed development.
She added: "it is considered that it will not have a material effect on existing highway conditions nor will it increase the flood risk on the site or elsewhere."
The application is being considered by planning officers at the council.
