A MAN has been arrested after three chickens were stolen. 

The man was arrested on suspicion of burglary, and the chickens were located after a search was carried out. 

The incident occurred at Hensingham, in Whitehaven

In a post on social media, Cumbria Police wrote: "You may remember in March 2024 PC 3157 asked for any information regarding a burglary whereby 11 chickens were stolen in Whitehaven. 

"Overnight, another incident occurred however this time the suspect wasn't quite so lucky. PC 3157 arrested a male under suspicion of three counts of burglary after more chickens were stolen in Hensingham, Whitehaven.

"Following the arrest, a Section 32 Search was conducted where the missing chickens were located.

"The stolen chickens were recovered and returned to their home. The suspect has been placed on bail whilst the remaining evidence is gathered."
