CUMBRIA Police have issued a dispersal order in Whitehaven town centre.
The order came into effect today, March 15, at 5pm.
A spokesperson said: "The dispersal area covered is bordered by Coach Road, Preston Street, Harbour View, Whitehaven Harbour, North Shore Road, New Road, George Street, Catherine Street, Castle Park, Castle Mews and Flatt Walks.
"The order gives officers extra powers to ask individuals engaging in anti-social behaviour to leave the area and not return, if they return they risk being arrested.
"Anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated and officers will be patrolling the area throughout this evening and tomorrow.
"We would encourage parents and carers to speak to young people about the impact of their behaviour, ask them where they are and what they are doing.
"Please report any incidents of crime or anti-social behaviour to us."
