A WEST Cumbrian school has had a visit from a personal trainer.

This is part of a scheme Kirkland Academy is running where all of their pupils have been given Moki Wristbands.

The Moki scheme has been relaunched in the school this week and encourages the pupils to stay active.

The wristbands count the number of steps the wearer does and also the amount of vigorous exercise that they do.

Former teacher and now personal trainer Louise Benn visited the pupils to speak to them about health and wellbeing.

A spokesperson from Kirkland Academy said: "This afternoon we had the pleasure of a visit from Louise Benn.

"After leaving teaching almost six years ago, Louise has now retrained as a personal trainer to support women on their strength and fitness journeys; specialising in weight lifting.

"Louise is passionate about helping others see the physical and mental health benefits of exercise and strength training.

"She was a perfect choice to come and talk to the children about the importance of health and fitness and put them through their paces. The children all loved the afternoon and had such a fun time and were asking to do it again."
