AN aspiring actress has spoken of her dream to perform on the West End one day.

Amber Hooper, of Whitehaven, is part of A&B Stage School, which caters to youngsters interested in performing arts.

This month she performed in the company's production of Sister Act Junior and starred in the leading role as Deloris.

The audience and her co-stars praised her performance, and she now has big hopes for the future.

She explains that she has been passionate about theatre from a young age and aims to find a career in the industry.

Ms Hooper said: "I started dancing when I was three and ever since then I've fallen in love with performing arts. I started singing when I was eight and became involved with Beth and Alex of A&B Stage School when I was nine.

"I've been doing it ever since, it's my life.

"I love being able to go to A&B every week, I enjoy being on stage so much, and performing it gives me such joy to go and be with all the girls. I've made some of my best friends there."

Amber described the performance in Sister Act as one of the best things she has ever done and one of her favourite shows.

She explained that sadly her grandma passed away last year, and she had been looking forward to coming and seeing the show. This gave her even more determination to give it her all in the performance and do it for her grandma.

Amber continued: "I'm hoping to go to Carlisle College in September to do the Level 3 Diploma in Performing Arts and then I would like to go to theatre school and pursue it as a career.

"My dream is to be on the West End and be there performing for millions of people every year.
