A MOUNTAIN Rescue team was in Whitehaven for Christmas doing an annual collection.
The Wasdale Mountain Rescue Team were at King Street in Whitehaven meeting locals and collecting money for their cause.
They received a substantial amount of money and many members of the public stopped to donate what they could.
A Wasdale MRT spokesperson said: "Members of the team were in Whitehaven today for the annual fundraising event in the town. It was great to talk to so many people and we were so grateful once again for the generosity and support shown to us.
"Huge thanks also to Lea Somerfield who bought a gift card from Greggs and allowed us a ‘free bar’ for coffee, and snacks.
"In all, we raised nearly £1500 which is a fabulous amount. Thank you so much and we wish you all a Merry Christmas."
