A WOMAN who started her own wreath-making business during the pandemic has seen it go from strength to strength.

Louise Savage, of Whitehaven, runs a business where she sells her hand-made wreaths.

She started the business over the Covid lockdown, and it has since grown in popularity.

Throughout the year Louise will make wreaths to suit the different seasons and occasions of the year.

At this time of year, they are particularly popular as many people hang festive-themed wreaths on their doors to celebrate Christmas.

Louise says that she wants to thank her customers for their support in the few years that she has been running the business.

She is delighted to see so many people taking an interest in her work in recent weeks.

Miss Savage said: "I started over Covid as a hobby and it just went on from there, I work at Richardson's in Whitehaven and the owner Gerard let me use the shop and space so that I could advertise from there.

"I advertise on social media as well, but I just wanted to thank all my lovely customers who have supported me throughout and bought wreaths time after time from me.

"From the Christmas ones to new season ones like spring and autumn wreaths, so I'm delighted to have had a good sell-out in the run-up to Christmas and I'm very grateful.

"I've done particularly well in the last few weeks and months. I wasn't making a lot at first and I thought that they weren't going to sell and that I'd maybe overdone it.

"But they've now sold out, one lady came and bought three wreaths from me at a time. I couldn't be more grateful for all the customers that I have.

"I make all of the wreaths myself at home in my kitchen. It was an idea that I'd toyed with for a while, and I like to think that I am artistic.

"I learned from scratch and went onto Google to look at images to get some ideas and inspiration, it just went from there."
