NEWSQUEST Cumbria opened up one of its offices to business leaders from across the county in a networking event with a difference.

Networkers came together for the final in-Cumbria event of the year, as the team celebrated a year of popular gatherings.

The team opened up the doors of Local-iQ House on Dalston Road, Carlisle, allowing networkers a glimpse of a digital newsroom.

Guests heard from regular attendees Kylie Palmer, from Hospice at Home, and Dr Zoe Billings, from Adapt and Evolve Consultancy, who both praised the networking events and talked of how their businesses have benefitted.

Networkers were able to take a tour around the offices as well as enjoy nibbles and office 'beer pong', with tasty cocktails also being provided by in-Cumbria partner The Tipsy Filly.

Helen Askew, owner of The Tipsy Filly, said: "I love working with Newsquest and it’s great to meet new people. It’s a very welcoming and supportive meeting for anyone who is self-employed or works within Cumbria."

Joy Yates, regional editor for Newsquest Cumbria, said: "I was extremely proud to invite our in-Cumbria business partners to our offices and provide an insight into our digital developments. We had a great turnout and a huge thank you to everyone who took time out of their busy diaries to join us.

"A special thank you to Helen Askew who treated us all to her wonderful Tipsy Filly gin cocktails. And our soap boxers were brilliant. We'll be announcing our programme of events for 2024 very soon."

Emily Wood, sales director for Newsquest Cumbria and Lancashire, said: "It was great to see so many new and familiar faces, and share a sneak peek into what goes on behind the scenes.

"So much has changed in our industry and the post-Covid world, we really wanted to share some of the developments the business has seen."
